Mega Millions
riney11 asked:

I notice the game stops 15 minutes before the numbers are picked. Could the numbers ever be tampered or altered with by Lottery officials, regardless if it’s viewed by the public ?

The Texas Lottery is STRICTLY controlled; I used to live in Texas, and I recall reading many years ago about all the steps they take to assure that the numbers can’t be tampered with. It’s very strict, and I have no reason to think they aren’t still following those procedures, or some that are even more stringent. Since the Lottery Officials and their immediate families aren’t allowed to even own tickets, they’d have nothing to gain by changing the numbers.

I would think it was rigged as well if the drawing was in Texas. It is not in Texas though. Michigan is a Mega Million state also. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. eastern time by the Georgia Lottery in Atlanta.

Mega Millions is played in twelve states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

When the average ticket you buy only is worth ~50% of what you paid for it…much smarter to run a fair game like this over and over and over again than risk the chance being caught rigging the game.

I use this argument for all casino games…especially online poker.
